Submission Categories

Refereed Full Manuscript

  • Up to 6,000 words (Including references)
  • Blind peer-reviewed.
    • Must be original work not previously published.
    • Authors may choose whether only an abstract or the full manuscript will appear in the Conference Proceedings (decision made at submission and cannot be changed later).

Refereed Poster

  • 750-word abstract (Excluding references)
  • Designed to present research in progress, pilot studies, or innovative practice.
  • Posters will be grouped for a shared presentation session. Conference Proceedings (decision made at submission and cannot be changed later).

Refereed Symposium

  • A curated session on a shared theme or project, with 3–5 presenters (including a chair/facilitator).
  • May include coordinated presentations, panel discussions, book project discussions, or collaborative research updates.
  • Proposal should include:
    • Overall session abstract (approx. 500 words)
    • Individual presentation abstracts (200–300 words each)
    • Roles of each participant and planned interaction with the audience

Non-Refereed Focus Session / Workshop

  • Practice-oriented, interactive sessions aimed at professional development, skill-building, or application of HRD concepts.
  • Proposal length: 1,000–2,000 words (including references)
  • Proposal Should include:
    • Purpose and need for the session
    • Session design, format, and timeline
    • Intended audience engagement strategies
    • Contributions to HRD practice and learning outcomes

Evaluation Criteria

Refereed submissions (Full Manuscripts, Posters, and Symposia) will be evaluated on:

  • Significance of the research problem and/or theoretical framework
  • Relevance and thoroughness of the literature review and/or conceptual framework
  • Clarity of research purpose, questions, and/or hypotheses
  • Appropriateness and justification of the research design and methods
  • Rigor, trustworthiness, and robustness of data collection and analysis methods
  • Quality of reporting of results and discussion
  • Appropriateness of conclusions and/or recommendations
  • Contributions to HRD and Asian HRD
  • Overall clarity and quality of writing

Non-refereed submissions (Focus Sessions / Workshops) will be evaluated on:

  • Relevance to HRD practice and the conference theme
  • Quality of the session design and facilitation plan
  • Potential for participant engagement and learning
  • Contribution to the advancement of HRD practice

Submission Guidelines

  • Official conference language: English
  • Follow APA 7th Edition style guidelines
  • Submit as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) — PDF not accepted
  • Adhere to word limits for your submission category
  • For refereed submissions, remove all author-identifying information from the review copy
  • Include keywords (maximum three)
  • Ensure all tracked changes are removed before submission

Authorship Limitation (Rule of 3): An individual may be listed as first author on no more than three proposals submitted to the conference, regardless of submission category. An individual may be listed as a co-author on additional proposals without limit. This policy ensures broad participation and diversity of voices in the conference program.
